Quantitative Lesson 10 "Density Lab"
Science and Technology Standards:
PA Standard 3.4.10A: Classify and describe, in equation form, types of chemical and nuclear reactions
Purpose:
1. I will identify lab equipment and their use.
2. I will recall various elements names and symbols.
3. I will calculate the number of protons, neutrons, electrons, mass number, and charge for various isotopes.
4. I will calculate the density of four different objects.

I. Introduction
Opening Assignment:
Warm-Up: Complete the lab equipment and its uses quiz (on front desk): Student should identify the lab equipment on the front desk from (their) left to right and its uses on a sheet of paper.
Review warm-up
State the purpose
II. The Lesson:
Activity #1: Collect lab equipment and its uses quizzes
Activity #2: Identify elements 21 - 40 names and symbols (on whiteboard) on their warm-up sheets
Activity #3: Return Atomic WS #1 with corrections to students in Block 2
Activity #4: Have students review their Atomic WS #1 corrections (Students should have the corrections I've made on their sheet)
Activity #5: Complete Atomic WS #2
Activity #6: If necessary, students should complete the Density Lab from Friday
Activity #7: Complete the Density Lab calculations (If they need them, I will give the students the necessary equations again tomorrow)
Activity #8: Complete the even Chapter 4 Review Problems 2 - 16 & 22 - 42 on pages 115 - 118
